TITLE: Casual Temporary Sauna Master (Pop-Up Event)
Dates: 10-day period in June (5 to 15 June 2025).
Location: Kings Pier Marina, Hobart, Tasmania.
Opportunity for Permanent Role: Outstanding performance in this temporary role could lead to a part-time permanent position as a Sauna Master and Skipper at Margate Marina, Barretta.
SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
We are seeking a passionate and reliable individual to join our team at Kuuma as a Casual Temporary Sauna Master for a 10-day pop-up event in June (5 to 15 June 2025). This exciting opportunity involves managing the sauna experience for our guests, ensuring a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable environment. For exceptional performance and suitability, this temporary role could lead to a part-time permanent position as a Sauna Master and Skipper. Candidates with a Coxswain certificate, or the desire and aptitude to obtain one, will be highly regarded.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sauna practices, including temperature control, safety protocols, and the ability to answer guest questions about sauna use and benefits. Excellent customer service skills are essential, as you will be interacting with guests and ensuring their comfort and satisfaction. The ability to maintain a clean and organised sauna environment is also crucial. While a Coxswain certificate is not required for this temporary role, it would be advantageous for future opportunities with us.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Sauna Management: Oversee sauna sessions, ensuring guests enjoy a high-quality wellness experience, while maintaining the safety of the sauna equipment and ensuring correct sauna operation.

Customer Service: Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring they feel comfortable and have an enjoyable experience. Promote the business’ philosophy and offerings through positive engagement.

Cleanliness: Maintain the sauna and associated areas (e.g., changing area) in a clean and sanitary condition throughout the event.

Communication: Communicate any issues or concerns to the proprietor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred.

Knowledge of sauna operations and wellness services is desirable.

First aid and emergency response training is a plus.

Interest in obtaining a Coxswain certificate is highly regarded for future opportunities.
